Winning Fleet: Jet Cars

Nov Fleet Company Logo - Jet CarsLocation: Wandsworth, London

  1. What do you enjoy most about working with Kabbee? The flexibility of jobs is great and I like the integration of bookings into the platform we use at the fleet. With Kabbee we also see increased volumes of work, especially airport bookings, which is always good.
  2. Are you aware of the Ultra-Low Emission Zone proposals set by TfL? If so, what is your opinion on them? We’re aware of the proposals and we welcome the change in our fleet.
  3. How many electric vehicles are signed up to your fleet approximately? Approximately 20% of our fleet are green cars.
  4. How will your fleet support your drivers to meet the Ultra-Low Emission Zone requirements by 2018, when they must all upgrade to an electric vehicle? Most of our drivers are already opting to the hybrid vehicle and we recommend them to do so. We will be putting an incentive of low commission charge to drivers with an electric vehicle.
  5. What makes your service better than other companies? We have competitive prices, dedicated operators and loyal drivers. There is also an outstanding level of communication between the operators and the management.

  5. What do you enjoy most about driving with Kabbee? Kabbee customers are fantastic. I have never had any issues with bookings made via the app.
  6. Tell us about any previous job(s) you’ve had.am a trained Barber. I have been in the trade for 10 years. For two of those 10 years I owed my own shop. I am also a handyman. I have done pizza delivery and worked in many customer facing roles.

Key customer feedback for Ali: “The driver was taking me to an interview and was very kind and reassuring – I got the job so please thank him from me!”

Well done to our winners for this month! With Christmas just around the corner, we’re expecting next month to be very busy which means lots of customer ratings and feedback to choose the December SOTM winners.

  3. Do you currently own an electric vehicle? If not, are you aware of which vehicle manufactures that offer electric cars? No, I have a Ford Galaxy, Toyota, BMW & Hyundai.
  4. Do think it is realistic for London’s 78,000 minicab drivers to upgrade to an electric vehicle by 2018? Presently, I thinks its unrealistic as its not enough time for drivers to prepare for such a drastic change – it will cost money and effort to find and buy an electric vehicle.

Kabbee’s Stars of the Month Programme is back!

To mark the beginning of fresh autumn leaves, Kabbee has brought back its Stars of the Month programme to remind its hard-working minicab drivers and fleets how important they really are.

This month, the winning minicab driver was rewarded with £100 and the fleet operators were also treated to a generous £200.

Our team spoke to the lucky winners to get their opinion on a few things…

Winning Fleet: The Keen Group

Keen Logo

  • Location: SW & SE London
  1. How do you feel about having won The Star Of The Month award which celebrates the best fleet among a list of over 60 minicab fleets? We are immensely proud and over the moon. We feel it is testament to the hard work of our office staff and our drivers. We also appreciate Kabbee for recognising our fleet as one of the best, and dedicated to providing high levels of customer service. This award will provide us with the motivation to keep up with the hard work and strive to become even better.
  2. What do you enjoy most about working with Kabbee? The team here at The Keen Group minicabs enjoy working with Kabbee mainly because of the ease of service. The website provides an easy means of management and overview of all bookings, and we are able to quickly communicate with customers through a variety of different platforms. The staff are also very friendly, informative and ‘on the ball’.
  3. What do you believe Kabbee could do to improve the service for fleets, if anything? As always, we very much appreciate as much feedback as possible with regards to the quality of performance we provide, not only to Kabbee customers but Kabbee staff too.
  4. What do you think your local area could do to help make London ‘greener’ e.g. recycling schemes, electric cars? There could be more electricity charging points for electric vehicles. More general, there could be more waste and recycle bins available in the public places, as well as using more sustainable materials for the local building projects.
  5. What makes your service better than other companies? We prioritise Kabbee bookings and  spend time maintaining a good working relationship with the staff at Kabbee. Our large fleet (400+ drivers) and varied coverage areas make us the perfect choice for that simple A to B trip, going to the airport or even for large events such as weddings.

Winning Driver: Selvendran Sivamanoharan

Selvendran

  • Name of Fleet: Sky Cars
  1. How does it feel to be one of Kabbee users’ favourite drivers? I am very happy to have won the Star of the Month award and I hope to continue to provide the same service in future. Making customers happy is my priority.
  2. What do you believe Kabbee could do to improve the service for drivers, if anything? Possibly receiving less fines for lateness as traffic is not a driver’s fault.
  3. Do you think the government supports London’s minicab drivers? Would you recommend any changes to the private hire industry? Again, maybe to be more lenient on fines for dropping off/ picking up passengers on red / yellow routes.
  4. What is the most random / strangest experience you’ve had during your career as a minicab driver? I once took a BBC daytime presenter to Oxford to cover a major story.
  5. What do you enjoy most about driving with Kabbee? Talking with my customers, sharing life experiences and common interests.

Name: Mohammed Hossain

Fleet Name: Canary Wharf Cars

A moment with Mohammed:

“The minicab office in Canary Wharf has been established for 45 years, and I have been there for 25 of those years. My job has become my favourite hobby – I love what I do every day, and being a fleet owner has made me realise how valuable minicab drivers are.

I enjoy busy periods the most because that’s when I can show off my real managerial skills! I like to see that every postcode within our five mile radius is covered and jobs are active. We currently have eight operators in the office and 60 drivers, but I’d like to expand in the new year.”

“Being a minicab driver is very flexible as it allows me to make time for my family, whilst doing something I enjoy for a job. I work for Canary Wharf Cars which also won the Fleet of the Month, so it’s a double achievement for us.”

I have been driving for 10 years and it has become a passion for me – by meeting new people every day and taking them to their destination, I feel like I am helping people. I work night shifts throughout the week and weekends, so my personal time is limited but I try to make the most out of it when I can. I am interested in farming and grow spring onions, green garlic and parsley in my garden.

“One thing I love about Kabbee is the customers – they are always friendly and polite. I never have any hassle with Kabbee’s customers and sometimes I even get generous tips from them!”

I have 17 years experience in retail, and before becoming a driver, I was a Store Manager at Iceland. The hours were long and stressful, and not realistic for a man like me with his fifth child on the way…so I decided to change my career.

“Being in retail, I understand how important it is to provide excellent customer service, so in this job, I make an extra effort to be polite, friendly and helpful to my passengers. I love learning from my passengers too – they all have very interesting experiences.”

I have been driving for four years and I really enjoy working for Great London Cars – it’s a great fleet.

“I am a big Chelsea football fan – I go to most of the games at Stamford Bridge although my three-year old daughter is not yet a fan. My family enjoy listening to music and my favourite singer at the moment is Ed Sheeran – he has a very soothing voice, which makes me more relaxed on busy days.”

“I spent five years as an electric metre reader for G4S and I thought I got nothing out of it…but I’ve realised that it has come in handy as a minicab driver. I travelled all over West London to different homes, and now I have very good knowledge of London’s roads – I know all the shortcuts and side roads. Being a driver has given me a better salary and flexible working hours to provide for my family.

“I really enjoy seeing new faces every day and hearing people’s stories, it makes me look forward to the next day. I spend a lot of time gardening too – I have fruit trees and beautiful flowers that I look after.”

Being a minicab driver isn't like landing a landing a probe on the Rosetta Comet, but you do have to be a star!

Being a minicab driver isn’t like landing a probe on the Rosetta Comet, but you do have to be a star!

Kabbee Reveals October’s Stars of the Month

No two licensed minicab journeys are ever the same, and that’s part of the reason we love to hear from our passengers, to tell us which drivers and fleets are doing an awesome job.

Our Stars of the Month programme is designed to celebrate the best drivers who go that extra mile, and remind those that aren’t winning awards, of what’s important to passengers.

This month, we have selected 10 Stars of the Month, based on the amount of fantastic feedback they have received via the ‘rate your journey’ request that passengers receive when going on their merry way.

So, let’s meet some of the 10 winning drivers, and the best fleet of the month too:

Anthony Abiodun of Claremont Cars

Anthony Abiodun of Claremont Cars

Name: Anthony Abiodun

From: Tottenham

Drives for: Claremont Cars

Loves: Singing gospel music every Sunday at his family church

Anthony loves to see the look of surprise on a Kabbee passengers’ face when he pulls up in his super duper BMW 5 Series, especially when they haven’t booked a premium car.  He tells us: “It’s important to ensure the passenger feels safe and secure, as well as comfortable.  I always open the car door, I ask them if the temperature is okay, and what music (if any) they wish to listen to.”

Having started his career as a London-based minicab driver in 1989, Anthony had only great things to say about what the various governments that have been in power over the last 20 years have done for the city’s transport system.  When asked for examples, he said: “Stopping smoking in cars was a great move – nicer for everyone, and ensuring that all licensed minicabs and other cars are roadworthy – safety is key.”

Anthony is married, with three boys and one girl, who have made him a proud grandfather of two grandsons.

Habib is Mr Calm

Habib is Mr Calm

Name: Habib Rahman

From: Hounslow

Drives for: Airport Express

Loves: Being able to do all the DIY around the house

When Habib walked into the Kabbee office for his interview, he had a smile from ear to ear – a look of a man who prides himself on good manners and providing a pleasant service.

Originally coming from Afghanistan, he explained that in Britain people are extremely friendly, especially when they can see how hard he works.  Doing a 12-hour day five days a week means that Habib is keen to use his time outside of work wisely.  He’s never had to call a tradesman to his home, he can put his hand to anything, and is proud of that.

When asked why Habib thinks he won Stars of the Month, he said: “I remain calm at all times, and I understand that every new passenger is a new experience.  If I’ve had a stressful job, I never take that emotion onto the next journey.”

Keep calm, and carry on, Habib!

Proud Father and Geography Graduate, Guldip Bajwa

Proud Father and Geography Graduate, Guldip Bajwa

Name: Guldip Batwa

From: Hayes, Middlesex

Drives for: A2B Radio Cars

Loves: Having achieved an MSE in Geography, and cooking for his family of five.

As if winning the Stars of the Month award once wasn’t enough, here is Guldip winning it for the second time.

When he’s not watching his favourite Bollywood movies, Guldip loves spending time with his family – he has two daughters who he is very proud of, both who have now graduated from university.

His wife works for Terminal 4, too, so transport and travel is often the subject of discussion at the dinner table – Guldip’s favourite place to be.

When in India, Guldip received an MSE in Geography, making him keen to travel to new places, and now, as a licensed minicab driver, he knows London very well.

We asked Guldip how he felt to win the award – he said: “It’s really great, and I like what Kabbee does for its users – the price is good, and I make sure the service is the same.”

If Guldip could have a celebrity in the back of his minicab, he’s choose Dharmindra, his favourite Bollywood actor.

Give Zaid a Ferrari with David Beckham in it, and he'll be happy!

Give Zaid a Ferrari with David Beckham in it, and he’ll be happy!

Name: Zaid Dawd

From: Watford

Drives for: Falcon Cars

Loves: Fish and Chips

One of the savviest licensed minicab drivers in London is Zaid Dawd.  He shares a Toyota Prius with his brother, and when he clocks off in the evening, his cabbie brother takes the car on the nightshift – how smart!

Zaid loves his Prius, as it’s the latest model on the road, and the sensors around the vehicle make it a pleasure to drive. It’s also a 7-seater, so he can fulfill all Kabbee’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) jobs.

When asked why Zaid puts so much effort into his role as a minicab driver, he said: “I lived in Sweden for 15 years, where I was a minicab driver, and now that I’m here in London, I love the job more than ever.

“The greatest thing about Kabbee jobs is that they are normally longer distances, which means I can get out of the city and keep the wheels turning.”

Zaid said it’s easy to get a good rating from Kabbee passengers, as they are all so nice and friendly, and he enjoys looking after them the best he can.

If Zaid could have any car, it would be a Ferrari, and if he could choose a celebrity to have in the back of it, he’d chose Golden Balls, David Beckham.

Sean Mongan is driving donw London's Electric Avenue, with Thriev

Sean Mongan is driving down London’s Electric Avenue, with Thriev

Name: Sean Mongan

From: Clapham

Drives for: Thriev

Loves: A good pint of Guinness

After graduating from university, Sean decided to become a licensed minicab driver to pay off his student loan, before going into the career of his choice – accounting.

As he sits and counts his £200 prize for winning Kabbee’s Stars of the Month award, Sean told us that he loves being a minicab driver, and the fact that he’s making money, but not having an impact on the environment, by driving an electric vehicle.

When we asked Sean how he felt upon hearing that his passengers think he’s a superstar, he said: I was really surprised, in a good way – it’s not every day that you get such great feedback and recognition.

“I find Kabbee passengers are consistently very nice, and a pleasure to drive around the city.”

Fleet of the Month

Name: Ibrar Choudry

From: North West

Fleet Manager for: Cheetah Cars

Loves: People with manners

Just like the animal, Cheetah Cars are quick, smart and built for speed, and that’s why they are the winners of October’s ‘Fleet of the Month’.  *Big round of applause please*.

When asked why Ibrar thinks his fleet has been voted as the best by Kabbee passengers, he was quick to set the record straight, he said: “Manners is everything, and our drivers are polite, which makes a big difference the person taking a ride with us.”

“It’s a great feeling to win this award, and it’s good to be recognised by the people that matter to us most.”

When he’s not managing an entire fleet and ensuring precision timing, Ibrar is spending time educating his team on how to keep passengers happy.

If you are a very satisfied Kabbee passenger, and would love to see your favourite driver awarded for their hard work, make sure you always rate your journey and tell us why they’re so flippin’ great.

Meet Kabbee’s Stars of September

Here at Kabbee we are very passionate about rewarding our drivers and fleet partners for providing customers with a great level of service.

This month, we had seven London-based minicab drivers visit Kabbee’s offices to tell us a little bit more about themselves. Each winning driver won £200 and the winning fleet received £1000, all courtesy of Kabbee.

Winning Drivers

Michael Bloom of A2B London

This is the second time Michael has been crowned ‘Star of the Month’, and it is great to know that many customers are more than satisfied with the service he offers.

Michael collecting his second SOTM award

Michael collecting his second SOTM award from Andy Papa, Head of Exchange Partner Management at Kabbee

How does it feel to be one of Kabbee’s favourite drivers for a second time? It’s a fantastic way to start my weekend and it really is lovely to see that the customers are thinking so highly of my service. Customers often tell me that they are most satisfied with is the sense of reliability that Kabbee brings to the minicab market, which I completely agree with.

Purna Bahadur Gurung of Dial a Car

Purna visiting Kabbee for the first time

Purna visiting Kabbee for the first time to collect his award from Kim Hemmings, Exchange Partner Manager at Kabbee

What do you enjoy most about driving? I love driving because there is something different every day, whether it be the customers or current scenario that I am faced with on the road – it’s part of the job!

What is your dream car? There are so many that I’d like to say, but I think the main one has to be an Aston Martin.

What was your previous career? Before becoming a minicab driver, I served time in the British Army.

Muhammad Azizul Haque of AK Cars

xxxxx

Muhammad receives his Star of The Month award

Do you have any hidden talents or unusual hobbies? Not unusual as such, but I love to learn. I am currently studying ICT and English Language in my spare time, which I hope will help to improve my service for customers even more.

What change would you most like to see in the minicab industry? Definitely for other road users to equally honour the speed limits set by local councils. It’s really disappointing when other vehicles are unnecessarily rushing one another which can cause people to break the speed limits.

Banjo Tamiru of Trio Cars

xxxxxxxxx

Banjo visits Kabbee to pick up his award

What do you like most about working with Kabbee? Working with Kabbee helps me with job flexibility – I am able to accept the jobs that are most convenient for me as a driver, which means I am now using a lot less fuel.

Which celebrity would you most like to pick up and why? Mario Balotelli – It’s a simple decision for me to make, reason being that he is always just himself.

Hassan Mohamed Abdulle of Airport Express Cars

xxxxxxxx

Kabbee hails Hassan’s hard work

How does it feel to be one of Kabbee’s favourite drivers of the month? It really is a great achievement for me. I am always polite to the customers and I am committed to making them happy. If I drop someone off and they are not smiling, I feel as if I have not completed my job.

What change would you most like to see in the minicab industry? I think training is the key to being a successful minicab driver. If you are not trained how to be polite and assertive with customers, it can seem unprofessional.

Rajat Sharma of Claremont Executive

xxxxxxxxxx

Rajat collects his prize

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I enjoy listening to music, watching documentaries and I also love travelling (when I get the chance to haha!)

What do you love most about driving? Well I’ve only been in the industry for three months, but it seems that in London you get to see the best sights.

Fogarasi Balazs of Great London Cars

xxxxxxxx

Fogarasi meets Andy to collect his award

What is the most random or strangest experience that you’ve had during your career as a minicab driver? I once got told by my fleet manager that we had a very precious customer who needed a lift. I went and picked the customer up, and we were having a casual chat until we got to the airport. It was only then that she mentioned her name was Melanie Sykes! I was completely oblivious.

What do you like most about working with Kabbee? Since working with Kabbee, the frequency of jobs has increased dramatically, meaning that we now spend less time in the minicab office for a job to pop up.

What was your previous career? I am a qualified scientist and used to work in scientific studies.

Winning Fleet

We spoke with Anis Choudhury who owns the winning fleet, United cars.

How does it feel to be Kabbee’s favourite fleet of the month? It’s an amazing achievement for us all here at United Cars, and is also very encouraging for all of our fantastic drivers.

What do you like most about working with Kabbee? Working with Kabbee makes our lives a lot easier and the clever technology that they use creates a larger influx of jobs for us. Compared to its competitors in the market, I believe Kabbee is the most modern platform and makes ordering a minicab in London mighty.

Halloween is coming up soon, so remember to book your minicab through Kabbee and be treated not tricked!

26Sep

Meet Kabbee’s Stars this August!

Kabbee has been rewarding its hard-working drivers every month, since April this year, and has encouraged them to provide excellent customer service to their passengers.

This month, we had four London-based minicab drivers visit Kabbee’s offices to tell us about what customer service means to them. Each winning driver won £200, courtesy of Kabbee.

Winning Drivers

Amin Uddin of Trio Cars

This is the third time Amin has been crowned ‘Star of the Month’, and he is delighted to continue offering great service, to make his passengers feel happy.

Amin collecting his prize for the third time

Amin collecting his prize for the third time

What is your top tip to providing the best customer service? I believe it is important to go that extra mile to help your passengers, and show kindness – if they have luggage, offer to take their bags from them, or if they have a pram, fold it up for them. They really appreciate small things we do to make their lives easier.

What brands do you think give offer high-quality customer service? I go to Mcdonalds every morning for a coffee, and they are always very quick to serve me. I also think Next has good quality clothing for a reasonable price – that’s where I do my clothes shopping.

Abeke Abraha of Dial a Car

Abeke visiting Kabbee for the first time

Abeke visiting Kabbee for the first time

What is your top tip to providing the best customer service? I haven’t been a minicab driver for very long, but I’ve already realised that you need to perceive your customer’s mood, and then decide how to communicate with them. Sometimes, people wish to keep to themselves, but other times, passengers are chatty and want to have a conversation.

What brands do you think give offer high-quality customer service? John Lewis wins my vote – I like the range of men’s clothing they sell, and the service you get in-store is always good.

George Costa of Greater London Cars

George is ready to treat himself to a Greek lunch with £200!

George is ready to treat himself to a Greek lunch with £200!

What is your top tip to providing the best customer service? When customers pay for a minicab, they expect a polite driver, a greeting and all of the basic things – but personally, I think the key to impressing them is looking smart, smelling good, and having a clean car.

What brands do you think give offer high-quality customer service? My favourite car is the Audi convertible, so I have to praise the manufacturing company for selling such a beautiful car.

Ismail Ozcan of Top Cars

What is your top tip to providing the best customer service? To make the customers happy, you must greet them with a big smile. Show them that you are happy to help them get to their destination.

What brands do you think give offer high-quality customer service? I am a big fan of BHS and M&S clothing – I buy for myself and my family there. Very good customer service and long-lasting clothes.

National Customer Service Week is coming up soon, so book your minicab through Kabbee and be treated like a Royal!

July’s stars of the month

Fleet of the Month

As part of Kabbee’s Stars of The Month initiative, drivers and fleets are rewarded based on feedback from users that have booked via the Kabbee app.

July’s Stars of The Month winning fleet has been awarded to Compass Despatch, based in Islington.  The fleet was awarded with £1000 based on how passengers rated the service, which tracks punctuality, the driver, and the car they drive.

It’s really great to be recognised by our customers and winning this award has only made us want to increase the amount of jobs we have.”
